Just replugged my midi keyboard, and it really is fun jamming with it. So not a very eloborate beat or form or sound design today, just some keyboard melodic jamming. Collecting stuff for the album…

I’m quite busy, so no real song-a-days, and actually I think I’m going to start gathering material for an album. I have found back a bit to the way I used to jam when I started, and I always quite liked what came out. Here some stupid shit I’ve been doing over the weekend, gathering stuff. And yeah, hate me for the melodies, and fuck you too!

So after a 1 week hiatus, slowly starting again. This one is really really shady, bad mix bad everything, just a try to get somewhere with ableton racks, and slicing teh funky drummerz.

Heya, yesterday was laptopbattle, I finally made over first round, lost in second round to der Hollaender and his clean production (something that was quite obvious from the start :), but I had really fun anyway. Here is the reworked version of #019 mixed with #017 that I used for the first round, and a small rendering of the second set (of 6 minutes), but I f*cked this one up playing live by having an unwanted loop (wtf ableton?), and not really being able to be coherent in my own mind at the time :]

And another glitch acid, this time quixit (using only provided samples in 1h30). I think I’m getting this down. All the glitch was done in a “quick” way using my beloved xfx ensemble in reaktor and livecut, then some more slicing.

Working again on glitchy samples. I did the mistake to record all glitch smapz with reverb on it, making it sound all a bit washy. Will take better care next time.

Spent a bit more time than yesterday on the track, still very basic and badly mixed. I’m getting slowly there, and I started doing one thing I never did: archiving presets, effect chains, and lots of samples. I wonder why I didn’t do that before.

Missed two days, OMG OMG OMG OMG Here is the “finished” version of number 15 though:

And here is how I am exploring the process a bit further, this time by creating all my samples, trying to organize them using ableton’s library, and stuff… Much to discover there. Also, I well get monitors pretty soon, and a new soundcard, so resampling all my stuff and working on sound design should be better soon

After spending a frustrating day in logic, some exquisite sample chopchop in live.
