It was a 40 minute attempt to catalogue the history of cut up music – be it avant garde tape manipulation, turntable megamixes or bastard pop mash ups. It rapidly spread throughout the web and managed to cause a full scale server crash on boomselection.info when they hosted it due to the volume of net traffic.”
ab und an findet sich im de:bug podcast zwischen all diesem neumodischen knistersound doch noch etwas interessantes: raiding the 20th century – a history of the cutup (mp3 52mb) – eine kleine geschichte der popmusik und natürlich der cutup-musik des 20. jahrhunderts, wunderbar gemixt. höret! für meinen geschmack könnte es durchaus noch ein wenig mehr biss haben, was wiederum aber auch schwierig wäre angesichts der vorlagen. und: werte künstler, müssen wir wirklich in allen mixen mindestens ein sample von herrn bush haben? so ein grossartiger redner ist jener doch wirklich nicht.
